The half-yearly installation of officers constituted the principal business at Unity Lodge. The installing officers installed the following:—J.P.G., Bro. J. Milne: N.G., Bro. W. G. Bowler; V.G., Bro. Winefiiekl, • The installation of officers of Flower of He rev. eka Rebekab Lodge, No. 31, took place recently. Some thirty members of the degree were conveyed to Portobollo by motor bus, where, after being received and welcomed by the N.G. and members of the lodge, Sister M. Barr, L.D.D.G.M., assisted by D.G. Marshal Sister C. Wilson, D.G. Warden Bister E. M'Arthur, D.G. Guard Sister Barr, and D.G. Chaplain Sister Joseph, installed the following _ officers:— P.N.G., Sister C. Hanuiim; N.G., Sister F. 1. Arnott; V.G., Sister C. Copeland; secretary, Sister F. Broadley; treasurer, Sister A. 1. Crawlord; chaplain. Sister 1. S. Hanning; warden, P.G. Sister G. Seaton; conductor, Sister M. Cross; R.S.N.G., P.G. Sister V. Broadley; L.S.N.G., Sister A. F. Crawford; R.S.V.G., Sister M. Morrissey; L.S.V.G., Sister F. E. Arnott; EG., Sister M. Arnott; 0.G., Sister M. Goar. The city lodges were well represented, and congratulatory speeches were made by the installing officers. At the close of the meeting supper was served, and as the occasion also marked the birthday of the outgoing N.G., opportunity was taken for the presentation of a birthday cake from the members of the lodge. The combined annual ball of the lodges of the Manchester Unity was attended by about 200 couples. Oddfellows were present with their lady friends from all parts of the district, Kaitangata being ns usual well represented. The hall was tastefully decorated, and during the evening the spot light effects were very effectively used. Prov, G.M. Pro. A. Wylie with Sister E. Hadler led the grand march. The Albion Orchestra of six performers sumdiod the music. The duties of M.C.s were carried out by P.G. Bro. J. Wright, M‘Allnn, M'Donald, and Oaten, P.G. H. Cnmherbeacb acted as secretary. Tho catering was in the hands of Mr Ellison.
