Judgment, by default, with costs, was given in each of the following cases Gifford Alexander Laurenson v. Parker, £2 4s 4d, balance of account for broad supplied; ‘Evening Star’ Company, Ltd. v. Sheffield Manufacturing Comapny (Invercargill), £1 10s 10(1, goods _ supplied; Philip Fitzgerald v. Mrs Smith, TakaUopn, £1 fis (costs only); .Herbert S. Adams v. Angus IV. C. Macdonald (Queenstown), £SB, money lent and interest: MThcrson, Keni]), and Co. v. AV. Ratcliffe (Palmerston , North). £6 7s 2d, goods supplied; Commercial Trading Company, Ltd. v. F. Brattle (Lower Unit), £2 19s 2d, account slated. CLAIM FOP CLOCK. Stewart Lynn (Mr Fairmaid) proceeded against Vincent A. Ryder for the sum of £2 9s Gd. The plaintiff stated that ho was the owner of racing pigeons, and three years ago last April lie ordered an “ A.H.P. Timer” dock from defendant, for which lie had forwarded £2 10s, and produced the receipts for the amount, lie had not received the clock nor had inis money been refunded. The balance of the claim was made up of 9s Gel interest and 10s damages.

The Magistrate said that ho would not allow the claim for interest, but, as there had boon a breach of contract, plaintiff was entitled to something for damages. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £3, with 10s court costs, and 13s solicitor,s fee.
