UNWELCOME GUESTS
EVACUATION OF THE RUHR GERMANS REJOICE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, July 22. The ringing of church hells, the blowing of trumpets, and general rejoicings in the streets of Ruhr at midnight greeted the end of the French and Belgian occupation. Enthusiastic crowds at Bochum and Gelsenkirchen sang patriotic songs. The hoisting of the black, white, and rod flag on the Hotel Bochum led to a conflict between the Republicans and the Nationalists, the former demanding the removal of the flag. The police arrested several persons, and peace was restored after the proprietor, at the request of the police, had removed the dag.—Reuter.
