SHIP’S BOATSWAIN FINED [Per United Press Association.J WELLINGTON, July 22. The Customs officers found a quantile of opium on the steamer Hermes last evening, and as a consequence Tong Ah Wong, the ship’s boatswain, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with importing opium in a form suitable for smoking. Wong admitted the ownership of the drug, bub explained that he kept the opium lor sailors who came to him when they were ill. A. lino ‘of £SO was imposed.
