The Maheno arrived at, Port Chalmers on Friday from Sydney via 'Wellington to undergo overhaul. The (Marama berthed at Port Chalmers on Saturday. She arrived in the Lower Harbor on Saturday morning, with a quantity of cargo for transhipment to northern ports. The (Maori, anil probably the Tahiti, will undergo periodica! overhaul at Port Chalmers. The Manuka left Jtfelbounie on Friday for Bluff and Dunedin with passengers, mails, and cargo. The vessel is due from Bluff on Wednesday morning, and is to sail on Wednesday evening for Melbourne via Lyttelton and Wellington. The New Zealand Shipping Company s Rotorua left Southampton on April 25 for Wellington, Timai;a w apd. Port Chalrnets via Curacao and Paflafttl 1 ' The liner, due at Wellington on (May 28 and at Fort Chalmers about June 10, has a large, quota of passengers and a quantity of cargo for the dominion.

The Katoa sailed on Friday night for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The Kamo is scheduled to sail for Napier and Gisborne via ports this evening. The Opihi will sail about Thursday for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. The Karori, discharging coal at the Birch street wharf, will sail for Bluif about Thursday.

The Waikcmaiti should leave Sydney tomorrow for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru. .The Storm is expected to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Ripa is duo on Wednesday from Lyttelton. *The City of Madras will probably sail to-morrow afternoon for New Plymouth. The Suffolk is listed to sail for Port Chalmers to load on Wednesday morning. It is expected that she will be despatched for New Plymouth on Thursday. The City of Bristol is due on Wednesday. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.55 a.m. yesterday, and passengers and mails came south by the first express to-day. ARRIVAL OF TAINUI. The Shaw. Savill and Albion Line, steamer Tainui arrived at Port Chalmers on Saturday from London and Southampton via Panama. Auckland, and Lyttelton. She was berthed at the Ceorge street wharf to load a large shipment of frown meat, dairv produce, and other products for England. '1 he Tainui loaded her cargo at London ami (he passengers embarked at Southampton, which port "’as cleared on February 19. Stormy conditions prevailed for (he hr,-1 live days, and the Tainui was eonsideraoly buffeted hy hard westerly gales and high sens. CANADIAN CONQUEROR. An arrival in port on Saturday afternoon was the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Conqueror, from Halifax and New London. The vessel brought a cargo mostly of motor cars and parts, but also a quantity of general. The Conqueror sailed from Halifax on February 14, and New London on February 20. Colon was reached or March 7, and after hunkering the vessel passed through the canal and cleared Balboa next day. Gcnerally fine weather prevailed on the voyage, which was uneventful. CITY OF MADRAS. Laden with case oil, motor curs, and general cargo, the Ellerman-Bucknall steamer City of Madras arrived at the Birch street wharf. The vessel left New Fork on March 6, and reached Panama ton days later. The following day she resumed her voyage to New Zealand, and experienced an uneventful run m port. The vessel, which is under the agency of the A. and A, Line, proceeded from Auckland to Wellington and Lyttelton before coming to Dunedin, and will voyage hence to Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Portland (Victoria) to complete discharge. KARAMEA FROM CARDIFF. An arrival on Friday was the Sha w - Savill liner Karamea, which vessel made a non-stop run of fifty-four days from Cardiff via Cape of Good Hope to Wellington. ' Tile Karamea left Cardiff on February 20 with a cargo of steel rails, and experienced fine weather throughout the voyage, except on Good Friday, when very heavy following sens were encountered, causing the vessel to roll considerably. She discharged 2,830 tons of the rails at Wellington, and came to Port Chalmers to put out the balanrs. She wi]l load for Home at Port Chalmers, Oamaru, Timaru, Wanganui, Wellington, and Auckland.
