THE MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Gaelic Society was held last evening in Kroon’s Hall, Moray place. The hall was crowded in every part, and additional ac('ommoclation hud In ho provided, Iho chief, Mr IL Maclvcnzie, ami chieftain, Mr M. APKcnzie, were played to the platform by Riper Geo. Munro. A box of heather sent out by the ! Weekly Scotsman’ was distributed during the evening, and was highly appreciated as a remembrance of Old Scotia. During an interval in the programme a presentation of a three.tier cabinet of cutbry was made to the secretary, Air L. M‘Len.n, Vm IDo occasion of his marriage. Chief Roderick Marlsenzio made the, presentation in the twins customary on such occasions. Chieftains J. D. Cameron and M. APKenzie supplemented the chief’s remarks. Air ALLean, in a short speech, suitably responded. Tho programme war- such as to delight the hearts of Highbinders, -and was warmly received, encores being demanded in every instance, film following were the items:—Airs M’lvor, Gaelic, songs, ‘Suas Leas a Ghaelig’ and 1 Eilean Mo olrani ’; Mrs Maihewson, ‘ Homeland ’ and another; Air Ritchie, ‘Sound the Pibroch,’ ‘Fail, Oafedonia,’ and ‘The Standard on tho Braes of Alar’; Miss Kennedy. ‘We’d Better Bide a Wee | and a Gaelic song; Air APtvonzie, Gaelic, song, • Rosa Penhhair Roan Bhan ’ and ‘An Timid i»u lenm a.
