CROYDON AIR DISASTER

PILOT GIVES EVIDENCE. .TROUBLE IN PREVIOUS FLIGHT. Press Association —By Tclcgraplt'-Opyriglit-LONDON, January 27. (Received January 28, at 11.30 a.m.) At the resumption of the Air Ministry inquiry into the Croydon air disaster, Pilot Hinchcliff gave evidence in regard to experiencing a fluctuation of oil pressure and a roughness of the engine of the wrecked aeroplane during the previous flight. He reported the trouble to the officials at Croydon, and also told Captain Stewart to watch for oil trouble. He had been unwilling to fly to Paris on Christmas Eve, because lie had only just returned after a week’s absence, and it was not his turn to go, otherwise he would have been prepared to go with that machine after an examination, though not with a full load. —Reuter.
