MUSICIAN MURDERED
EDUCATED WOMAN ARRESTED. LONDON. January 11. While Herbert lUusgrave was leaving a Bradford hotel, where he was employed as pianist, Catherine 'Thorpe, aged twenty, stopped him, pulley! out a knife from her handbag, and struck him a violent blown Mnsgrave was taken to hospital, where he died, and 'Thorpe has arrested on a charge of wilful murder. The woman, who is well educated, and speaks three languages, lives apart from her husband, who recently refused to allow her to return, and is suing for a divorce, meanwhile retaining the child of the marriage. Mis Thorpe figured in a strange adventure on Christmas Eve, when she was found lying on tho roadway at night. She explained that she had missed her last car, and had accepted a lift in a motor car. in which wen; three men. She was being rapidly driven in a wrong direction, when she protested, and was thrown out.
