ST. KILDA BOWLING CLUB
SUCCESSFUL GALA DAY. In order to raise money to pay its overdraft, the St. Kilda Bowling Club held a fair on Saturday afternoon and evening Progressive bowls and games of skill, etc!, I were also played. The effort proved 1 highly successful and remunerative, some £230 Joeing taken. In the evening the St. Kilda Battd was in attendance and played several selections. For some time past the, members of the dub, their wives, find friends have been gathering funds by means of. card parties, etc., to enable purchases to be made for the stalls at the fair, and these purchases, together with a largo number of articles, etc., given as donations, resulted in wellstocked stalls, which soon attracted buyers. Business was brisk, and by 6 o’clock (he stalls were, practically bare. As a. result of the day’s takings the club should be placed on a sound financial footing.•’
