OCTAGON. In addition to George Arliss and Alice Joyce, the cast of ‘ Tim Green Goddess 1 ' includes the handsome David Powell, who has made love in a kinema way to more famous voung women than any other actor of the day, and Harry T. Morey, a realise tic careen bad man. Ivan Simpson, a member of tho original stage cast, is also in the film version, as is the highly interesting French actress, Jetta Goudal. William Worthington takes the part of the high priest. Sidney Olcott, the director, is deserving of no little praise for his handling of the mob scenes, in which more than 2,000 people participated, and for the deft handling of tire many intensely dramatic scenes. Tho work of the eminent cast of players is in keeping with the magnitude of the production. The two leading feminine players are among the most beautiful screen artists. David Powell offers a fine interpretation of tho English Army doctor, while Harry T. Morey, as the fighting Major Erespin, gives a faithful representation of a brave military officer. A musical programme to the Anglo-Indian atmosphere of the picture is played by tho Octagon Orchestra, under Mr A. Neate’s direction. EMPIRE. A gripping dramatic story is contained in ‘ Tho Moral Sinner,’ a picture offering Dorothy Dalton in a new role—-as a girl who cannot reconcile herself to the calling of thief. Miss Dalton gives a superb portrayal of the fascinating queen of the Paris underworld. Tho supports and the musical selections are of the highest standard. A Paramount picturisation of Zano Grev’s ‘ To the Last Man 1 will be Friday's feature at the Empire. QUEEN’S. A story unlike any other with a desert background is unfolded by the Master Pictures release, ' When the Desert Calls,’ current at the Queen’s 'theatre. An exceptional cast enacts a drama of mad love, fierce hate, and desert differences. ‘ More to he Pitied than Scorned ’ has Mother Lovo as its keynote, and features Alice Lake, Frank Glendon, and Rosemary Thchy. EVERYBODY’S. * Forbidden Valley ’ is an outdoor drams featuring May M’Avoy and Bruce Gordon '.this miracle of suspense heads the threehour now Dili at Everybody’s picturehouse. Shirley Mason has the role of ‘ Love Letters,’ a picture with a love element surrounded by mystery.
