Wahabite activities hi Arabia make peculiarly interesting the history of, the ■founder of the ’* Protestant sect of Islam. Mohammed Ibn Abd ’cl-Wahab was born in the Nejd in Arabia in 1696. Iteligious veneration for (lod alone and utter surrender of self was his creed, and by the sword of his great convert Mohammed Ibn Saoud and his family it swept Arabia.
