Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, would doubtless have remained unknown to the majority of people had it not been fho scene of the murders which hastened the World War. It has recently, however, made happier claim to recognition, as the town in which the first performance of ‘ Hamlet ’ was given in Jirgu-Skvia. There was hut one incongruity to the English eye —a modern; four-point gun, which ..appeared in the rampart scene. A crowded audience still sat wholly engrossed at midnight, though the play had progressed no farther than the graveyard scene.
