£ls A MONTE AND £lO A MATCH. The Wigan Rugby League Club will some day have a team of Springboks of dominion plavers. Tho ‘ Cape Times reports that, “‘regarding the going oyer of David Booysen to the Northern Union, wo now find that tie Wigan ■ Club has given him £I,OOO down, while, according to his agreement, he is to receive £ls a month, plus £lO for every match he plays. “The Wigau representative, after signing on Boovsen, said that to them Booysen was the finest half-back South Africa had ever produced, and Davy, with his stooping, swift-running gait, is a forceful player, tho typo necessary for this game (the R.L.). “ Booysen says that afteiy the termination of this engagement (which is for two years) he intends to return to South Africa, as, although he has signed on, he took a long time considering the matter, an extra £2OO offered by the representative being a great consideration to him. “ If correct, a signing-on bonus of £1,200, with playing remuneration of £ls 15s for one match per week, is record for any Rugby League player in England."
