Cable advice has been received by the haw-Savill Company that the Mamari, hicli left Auckland on October 15. arved at London via Panama, New York, id Boston on Sunday afternoon, after smart passage of forty-six days.

PARERA ARRIVES. Messrs Richardson and Co’s new coastal steamer Parera arrived at Wellington cn Tuesday morning from Napier via coast. The Parera, wdiich was purchased at Home to replace the Ripple, is admirably suited for the Wellington-Napier-Gisborne trade, in which she has commenced run- ! ning. Built on somewhat similar lines to Messrs Holm and Co.’s Holmdalo, the now coaster has two spacious holds forward, and Hie engine room is situated aft. Of a gross tonnage of 554, her length is Issft, beam 27ft, and draught 13ft The engines, of the triple expansion type, are capable of developing 350 horse-power. She was built by the Goole Shipbuilding and Repairing Company in the latter- half of 1921. Captain Barnes, late of the Putiki, is in command of the ship. >' SHEAP MOUNT REPORTED. Advice has been received by the Union Company that its chartered steamer Sheaf Mount sailed from Vancouver on November 27 for Union Bay and San Francisco to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, and Lyttelton. AUSTRA.LIND REPORTED. A wireless message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the Australind. en route from Montreal and Newport News, states that the vessel will arrive at Auckland on Saturday morning. CORINNA TO RESUME. The Union Company’s cargo steamer Corinna, which is now completing an extensive overhaul at Wellington, is about to bo recommissioned. In the meanwhile the vessel is announced to sail on Saturday for New Plymouth. DREDGE’S ROUGH VOYAGE. A Press Association message from Auckland states that the bucket dredge Korun arrived at Auckland yesterday from Muliiourne after an adventurous voyage of sixteen days. The dredge struck heavy weather after leaving Melbourne, and encountered mountainous seas. To make matters worse, the steam steering gear broke down, and two men had to steer by bund. Eventually the captain hevo-to, and some relief was gained when the vessel faced the gale. The men in the stokehold had an unenviable lime. At lengih the gale moderated. and from then on fine weather j prevailed. The flames from the funnel I burned the wireless aerials through when j two days from Auckland, but the damage 1 was repaired. Built at Balmain, New Sonih Wales, in 1914, the Korua is a, vessel of 400 tons, gross and 185 net.
