MUSICAL RECITAL
A musical recital will be given in Burns Hall to-morrow evening. It will break new ground in the musical field, in so much as it will be the first time that a Dunedin audience has had the opportunity of hearing in public the “ duo art reproducing piano.” On this instrument, which is entirely controlled by electricity, pianoforte solos will be rendered by Paderewski, Percy Grainger, Harold Bauer, etc. Mrs S. Foote will contribute several vocal solos. Many of the latest and best gramophone records will he heard on the *< Cheney ” gramophone. The record just received of the Hon. W. F. Massey’s speech will be heard for the first time in Dutcdin. This record was made by Air Massey during his last trip Home to the Imperial Contorence. On the other side of this record is the New Zealand national anthem, ‘ God Defend New Zealand. 1 ' rendered by Peter Dawson and a full chorus. Mr Phi) Palmer will render several 'cello solos. Miss Rita Holmes will play the accompaniments. Seats may bo reserved free at Begg’s, and the box plan is rapidly filling.
