MAY DEBATE TN NEW ZEALAND

WELLINGTON, July 29.

Word is received that several Oxford students, members of the University Debating Society, will make a world tour. Among them is Mr Malcolm MacDonald, son of tlio English Prime Minister. It is suggested that they should meet debating learns from our four university colleges, and this proposal has been placed before* tho Students’ Association of Victoria College. it appeal's that there has been some dissatisfaction with tho conduct of ■ the Debating Society at this college, and a long and vigorous discussion was aroused by tho proposal that the debates should not bo of a Bolshevist, Socialistic, or disloyal nature. In the end, it was by a largo majority decided that tho topics for debate shall bo subject to the approval of the executive of the Students’ Association.
