To-night, at the Burns Hall, Mr .1. (’• Newlands. of New College, ifaiiiihurgh. will give his first recital in Dunedin. the programme being a miscellaneous one including numbers from Dickens, Poe, .Kipling, Browning, Shakespeare, Noyes, am> Ford. To-morrow night the subjected tin; recital will be ' A Ki.jbt With Barrie. Judging from tho reports from Wellington, where Mr Newlands has Just finished a most successful season, Dunedin is in for an elocutionary feast. Press notices indicate that Mr Newlands is a gifted elocutionist with the touchy of humor so necessary in recital work. The prices of admission are -is reserves, 2s unreserved, plus tax. The box plans are now open at the Bristol Piano Company’s, Ltd.
