OCTAGON. A Paramount eight- reel comedy, entitled ‘ Rubles of Rod Gap,’ is the no iron t headline attraction at the Octagon Theatre. This afternoon there was a special matinee. The chief clianicUns in the pictur are Edward Horton, Ernest Toitcticc, Lois Wilson, Tritzi Ridgeway, Charles Ogle, and Louis Dresser. Die story tells how tlie man servant of a nobleman is gambled away to a Western family. tiiivWss (the man servant) endeavors to “ cl..lire” a. big Led Gap man, but fails dismally. The feature has a happy ending. EMPIRE. Annette Kcilennan is being screened at the Empire Theatre in ‘ Verms of lire South Seas,’ a New Zealand production, made in and around Nelson. She gives an excellent exposition of swimming and diving. A supporting film shows the arrival of J the Special Service Squadron and the sinking of the H.M.A.S. and the Empire Orchestra plays cadi evening a fine musical programme.
