[After the defeat of the Government on its own Evictions Bill last month Mr MacDonald announced that the measure would not bo reintroduced this session, but tho Government thought it possible satisfactorily to amend a private Bill by Mr E. D. Simon, tho passage of which ; ’t ■would then facilitate. This latter measure is almost identical with tho Government's Bill, except for the fatal rent and unemployment clause, which caused the rejection of -the Government's measure.] THE MMvENNA DUTIES.
