Teste prove that the human voioe can be transmitted cleaiiy only when the speaker's mouth is close to the transmitter. To speak 4in from the instrument is equivalent to lengthening tlio lino more than 200 miles; 2in away, 128 miles. Lowpitched tones are transmitted better than! those of a high pitch.
