CITIZENS’ GARDEN FETE

The annual citizens' garden fete will bo held on Saturday, March 8, in the Botanic Gardens, the proceeds being devoted towards improving Urn playing ureas on the city recreation reserves. All manner of attractions arc being provided. There will bo an abundance of band music, dancing displays by llio Otago School of Dancing, acrobatic displays by the Otago High School boys, national dancing competitions, poster competitions, and some novel side shows, chutes for tho children, and numerous other attractions. All manner of stalls have also been arranged for which will bo stocked with choicest goods, and tho public should bo able to secure many bargains on these stalls. , A cup of afternoon tea can bo obtained at the refreshment tent. In the evening the Gardens will be illuminated In connection with the fete an art union is being held, the prizes being gold nuggets valued £25, £ls, and £lO, and these'tickets also admit, to the fete, as well as giving the holders a cha-ncc in the art union. The lucky dips should also provide an attraction for the children.
