WAIHI RETURN. The Waihl Gold Mining Company, dun* ing the month ended December 31, crushed 15,646 tons of ore for a return of 5,549 fine ounces of gold and 35,454 fine ounces of silver. In the corresponding period of last year, 15,301 tons yielded 4,970 ounces of gold and 53.109 ounces of silver. _ • The following information has been cabled to the head office of the company in London:—No. 8 level, Edward lode: Driving south the next 16ft is a mixture of quartz and country assaying Is 9d per ton. No. 9 level, Edward lode; Driving south, the next 15ft assays 61s 9d per ton. The reef is wider than tho drive. No. 10 level, Edward lode: Driving south, tho next 19ft, assays Ss 3d per ton. The reef is about 2£ft wide.
