MISSION OF HEALING

■ MORE CURES REPORTED. Several new cures in connection with Mr J. M. Hickson's spiritual healing mfesion have been reported to the various Anglican clergymen in and around Dunedin. They are all being carefully investigated, and in most instances tho statements made have been well authenticated. The Rev. Bryan King gave an instance this morning of where a young man eighteen years qf age, who had been blind since birth, was able to attend church yesterday, and could see perfectly. An expressman stopped the Rev, Mr King in the street to-day and told him that his son, who had a very bad impediment in his speech, could now talk with great freedom. Another clergyman who lias spent a great deal of time investigating cases told a ‘ Star ’ reporter that an astonishing number of cures were being vouched for everywhere. He had personally seen a great number of patients, and was deeply impressed with the progress being recorded.

Ono very striking euro was reported by this gentleman. This was'of, a woman who some years a£o was operated on for spinal trouble. Tho operation proved a success, but there was a considerable amount of stiffness and pain. As tho result, however, of attending the mission fast week, this his all disappeared. A man paralysed on his left side can now move his arm as the result of the mission. The man is also confident that hie left side is filling out. The case mentioned by Bishop Richards at tho thanksgiving service on Friday night, where a man suffered from a severe burn on his left foot, and always walked as if he had a pound or two of lead* in his boot, is making marvellous progress. The flesh is healing and filling out in a wonderful manner.

The organisers of the mission express themselves as deeply thankful to the police for the manner in which they controlled the traffic to and from the Cathedral during tho services last week. Gratificar tion was also expressed at the fact that the general public did not obtrude ujftn the proceedings as they did in some other centres.
