(Received December 10, at 11.5 a.m.) Two little girls aged twelve and thirteen were drowned in the George River. They were bathing, and got beyond their depth. Their difficulties attracted their father, who is not a swimmer. Ho endeavored to rescue both of the children, but owing to the slippery bed of the river and the struggles of tho girls he was forced to free his hold to save himself. The mother was compelled to stand on tho bank and watch her daughters drown. She was not able to offer assistance.
