A cablegram from London states that the Shaw, Savill, Albion liner Maimoa, on route from New Zealand to tho United Kingdom, passed Toneriffe on September 23. The Union Company advises the. Waihemo arrived at Vancouver on Tuesday last to complete loading for Apia, Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth.

The Now Zealand Shipping Company advise that the departure of the Paparoa Horn Wellington tor London and West Coast ports of Great Britain has been postponed until tho afternoon of October 6. The vessel is to take saloon and third class passengers. Mr S. J. Atkins lias Joined the Waikouniti as third officer, vice Mr J. G. Adams, who has come ashore on transfer. The Union Company advises that the Tofua sailed from Apia at 5 p.m. on Tuesday last for Vavau, Haapai, Nukualofa, and Suva to lead a cargo of fruit, .''he will sail from Suva, on Thursday next for Auckland. The Atua is due hero to-morrow morning from Auckland via ports, and is listed to sail on Wednesday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland, The Kailanga.ta, which is discharging Newcastle coal at the. Birch street wharf, will sail on Wednesday or Thursday for Bluff and Greymouth to load timber for (Melbourne and Adelaide. Tho Flora left Auckland on Saturday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here about Thursday, and after discharging a quantity of general freight will proceed to Biuh. The Flora, will return about the end of the week to load for east coast ports and Auckland. _ Tho Waikouaiti will leave Timaru tomorrow evening for Sydney and Newcastle. She will load a t the' ports named for Bluff, Dunedin, and Lvtteltou.

THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. Messrs H. L- Tan ley and Co. advise that the Canadian Constructor will leave Adelaide to-morrow for Bluff, where sho is clue on October 9 to load for Now York, Boston, and Halifax. The vessel will load afterwards at Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is due hero about October 10.

DORSET LEAVES RANAMA. According to a cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company, the Dorset arrived at Colon on fceptember 24 from -London, and left I’an.mia cn September 25 for Auckland. Tho vessel is due at Auckland on October 22, and at Wellington on October 29. She will complete discharge at Lyttelton, Dunedin, ;md New Plymouth. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. The Federal Lire has boon notified that tho steamer City of Naples will leave New York on October 10 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australian ports. Tho Ka-ikoura-, to leave New York on October 25, and the City of Brisbane, to follow early in November, will bring cargo for .Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australian ports. NOTICE TO MARINERS. Captain S. VelHnowcth, of the Tofua, reports having obtained casts of seven and five fathoms at high water inside tho reef off Farepoe Point in raid-cha-unol, where the charted depth is shown as seventeen fathoms, Tho Marino Department advises that North Islands (Stewart Island), comprising a group of snail rocky with several outlying rucks above and below water, exist at a distance of if miles north-eastward of Motunui (170 ft) Island, to the eastward oi Port William. TREGONELL FROM NEW YORK. The Hain Line Reamer Tregonell (Cliptain S. Richards) arrived shortly before noon yesterday from Now York via Panama, Auckland, "Wellington, and Lyttelton, and was berthed at the A ictona wharf to discharge 26.000 cases of oil and a quantity of crude oil and general cargo. The vessel, which is to the agency of the A. and A. Line, loaded a full cargo at New York, including 50,009 cases of oil, and sailed on .August 5, arriving at Panama, on August 15. Balboa was cleared at 7.20 pan. on the 15th, and fine weather experienced until September 9, when a southerly gale was encountered with heavy head seas. Tho barometer fell to 29.50 degrees, and the storm continued throughout' the day. On .September 10 conditions improved, and good weather with variable winds .prevailed kg arrival at Auckland. Th? Tregonell, which was constructed in 1918 for Messrs Malts and Watts, was sold in 1919 to the Hain Company. Captain Richards has with him : Mr W. Bulmar, chief officer: Mr E. Bouncefield, second; Mr V*. Clements, tnird; Mr F. Miles, chief engineer. Tim Treconell will sail about Wednesday for Bluff to complete discharge. COASTAL STEAMER CYGNET.

Practicallv a- new ship, the small steamer (vgnet arrived at Lyttelton at midday on Friday fiom Port OhalnuTS, where she had been refitting during the past two months. Tho Cygnet has, had a new boiler installed, the engines rebedded and thoroughly overhauled, new bunkers, now decking on the, bridge deck, a new foremast and derrick, and many smaller improvements earned out. Her hull was rebuilt about three years ago. Spick and span, with now paint, she looks, as described by a marine, surveyor at Port Chalmers, fit to be classed 1923, instead of 1884. the year she was built. With her big boilers and ample power tho little vessel is in a, class by herself for speed, and can always be relied upon to reel oil ton knots. ' With her new (boiler she should, a a soon as her bearings are properly run in, bo putting up some fast trips.

ZEALANDIC FROM LIVERPOOL. The National Mortgage and Agency Company advise that tho steamer Zoabmdic is dun at Dunedin on October 13 from Liverpool via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton to discharge the remainder of her Home cargo. Tile vessel will sail about October 17 for Australian ports to load for the United Kingdom.

TRECAREELL AT AUCKLAND. The steamer Trecairell arrived at Auckland on Saturday evening from Liverpool via Panama. The vessel is laden with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin, and Australian ports. Fire should reach this port about October 12. KAZEMBE FROM NEW YORK. The steamer Kazembe, from Now York with general freight to the agency of tho A. and A. Line, arrived at Auckland early this morning.
