Earrings are now extremely fashionable for all ages. The younger generation, following the example of -Miss Gladys Cooper, the actress, is wearing them several inches long, made of jet, jade, amber, and occasionally of carved ivory and painted wood. The less daring do not exceed two inches.
Tho all-diamond variety is tho most popular, particularly for wedding presents. Gipsy earrings, as largo a.s a half-crown, aro also worn. The old practice of piercing tho lobo of the ear has been abolished, and many earrings are fixed to tho hair, to an invisible headband, or even to tho hat.
