WANGANUI, October 1,
The Customs revenue collected at Wanganui for tho September quarter totalled £28,694, an increase of over £5,400 compared with the previous September quarter. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Tho National Mortgage and Agency Company has received tho following cable, from (Messrs A. J. Mills and Co., Ltd., London :—Butter, firm ; salted, 200 s, 202 s • unsalted, 2035, 210 s. Cheese, quiet, 120 s. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows— Oats.—Owing to restricted offerings, very little business is passing in this market. We quote A Cartons, 2s lOd; B Cartons, 2s 8d; undergrade, from 2s per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. —This market is very firm at up to 4s lid per bushel, ex store, for 'good lines. Potatoes.—Best tables aro realising up to £l2 per ton. Chaff.—Prime quality is not over plentiful, but medium and inferior chaff is in over supply. AVo quote Prime oaten sheaf. £5 to £5 ss; good to best feed, £4 to £4 10s; inferior, £2 to £3 10s per ton (sacks extra). AVOOL SALES. Tho National Mortgage and Agency Company has received the following cable from its London office: — The auctions closed hero to-day firm, buyers operating freely, compared with opening rates. We quote: Greasy merino, best, unchanged; greasy merino, average, Id lower; half-bred, 50-56’s, unchanged; cross-bred, 48-50’s, jd lower; 46-48’s, jd (lower; 44-40,’s, lower,; 40-44’b, lower; 35-40's, j-d lower.
