IMPORTANT WILLIAMSON ATTRACTION

•MY LADY’S DRESS.’ Miss Emolio Polini, the_ popular and gifted dramatic artist appearing in Edward Knoblock’a dramatic novelty, ‘My Lady’s Dress,’ at' His Majesty’s Theatre cm Thursday next, Ims in association with her tho brilliant leading man, (Mr Frank Harvey, and an exceptionally strong J. C. Williamson dramatic company. The three acts of this story of human life include nine different scenes, each beautifully staged and representing places as far apart geographically as a boudoir in the West End of London, a _ peasant’s bouse in Italy, a work room in Lynns, a garden in Holland, a room in Whitechapel, a trapper’s stockade in Siberia, and a fashionable costumier’s atelier in New Bond street. Each of these little plays within a play is concerned "with the evolution of ‘My Lady’s Dress.’ The fateful garment is of satin veiled with hand-woven gold tissue, bordered with Russian sable, draped with priceless Venetian laoe, and finished with a huge velvet ' hand-made rose. Tho third act of the play takes place in the atelier of Jacqnclin, in New Bond street, London. It is people with society dames, mannequins, roues, ugly human passions, and a man dressmaker who thrive (and boast of thriving) “on the glut of women of the world.” Throughout tho course of tho play Miss Polini is seldom off the stage, and is required to _ portray the various emotions of humanity. Hers is said to be a clever diversity of roles, and she enters into the very heart of each country of which she is the temporary product. Always convincing and innately artistic, Miss Polini accentuates tho value of her work by the quality of its restraint. She is naturally well endowed, and her many roles in tho piece are most appealing. Mr Frank Harvey’s ability is happily well known hero, and is always convincing because of tho finished quality of his work. In this play he is said to have the greatest part he has ever had to portray, and, like (Miss Polini, is hardly off the, stage all the evening. ‘My Lady’s Dress ’ will be staged for four nights. Tie box plans are open at Tho Bristol Piano Company’s for the season of ten nights.
