HIGH SCHOOL DIAMOND JUBILEE

Arrangements for the High School diamond jubilee celebration are now nearing completion, and it is expected that there will bn a largo gathering of old boys from all parts of the dominion to take part. At a meeting of the executive held last week Mr E, Webster presided. It, was reported that advice had been received from Ills Excellency the Governor-General regretting Ida inability to come to Dunedin to unveil the school memorial. It was decided to ask Sir Francis Dell, G.M.G., to undertake this ceremony.

The Smoko Concert Sab-committee submitted the toast list and musical items for the concert on Friday evening, An gust .3, which were approved. The Dinner Committee submitted the toast list ami musical items- for the dinner on Saturday, August 4. The Snorts Committee reported that, arrangements had been made with the Rugby Union to play the Waifaki High School match with the Otago High School as a curtain raiser to the club fixture on August 4, and that the union would grant tlio association half the gate.

Tho Sports Sub-committee also submitted the programme of matches to_ho placed on Tuesday, August 7, including llngliy and Association, Hockey, ami' relav races.

Thu Procession Committee reported that arrangements were ' n ham! for the procession, on Sunday, August 5, from the (Erls’ High School to the Boys’_High .School, where a church service will he hold.

On Monday evening, August 6, a concert will bo hold in the Early Settlers’ Hall for tho present boys, and on Tuesday evening, August 7, the celebrations will bn brought to a close with a ball in the Art Gallery. The Printing and Photographic Commit teo reported that arrangements had beer, made for tubing photo groups in connection with tho various functions, and i. kinenra picture would also be taken. Arrangements were also being made for issuing tho Diamond Jubilee Magazine.
