Bates) supplied the following at. noon tc-day :—The indications are for southerly winds (moderate to strong) prevailing .soon; the weather wall probably prove cold and showery ; there will probably ho a hard frost to-night; barometer rising fdowiy, and the weather should improve; sea moderate, tides good.

AR RIVED. —JuIy 21. Waikouaiti, s.s. (11 a.m.), 3,926 tons, Barlow, from Sydney via Bluff.

The Kurow is due at Lyttelton to-day from Auckland and Wellington. Sho will load produce at Lyttelton and Picton for Auckland.

The Kaiwarra is at present undergoing overhaul at Auckland. The Gale is due at Dunedin on Tuesday from Lyttelton, and is listed to sail ■,Lv duy.-.fc, ami muganui via ports. The Westmoreland is due at Wellington to-day from Auckland to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. She is to leave Wellington early next week for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete, discharge. Captain J. F. S. Brown will assume command of the Walhenio at New Plymouth, vice Captain W. I’. Collins, who is coming to Wellington for instructions. Mr A. Cornelius, who has been ashore on holiday leave, has joined the Manuka as second officer, relieving Mr H. Donald, who awaits instructions.

The brigantine. "Radiol Cohen, niter a protracted voyage from Western Australia, has reached Darwin (N.T.), where she w to take the place of the Government ship •John Alee. The steamer Niels Nielsen was scheduled to leave the Pacific Coast on July 1. timber laden, for Sydney and Melbourne. The vessel is expected at Sydney on August 7. The Port Piric, C. and D. sfeairgji, arrived at London on July 8 from Hobart, Port Pirie, and Wallaroo. 'The Themistocles, of the Aberdeen Line, left Capo Town on July 11, from London, on route to Australian ports. She is due at Albany on July 26. The Maimon was at Newcastle early fliis week. She sails (hence for New Zealand to loud for the United Kingdom. The Wanaka, is now duo at Dunedin on Tuesday from Auckland via unite. Flic to sail the same day. for Bluff, and will return here about Thursday to load for .east coast, ports and Auckland. The Karori is expected to leave Greymouth about the middle of next, week, eoa.l laden, for Timarn, Oamaru, and Dunedin.

The Union Company advises that the, Waiherno is due at Dunedin on Wednesday next from Vancouver and San Francisco via northern ports to discharge part cargo. She is to sail about 1 bars.lay for Sydney and Vancouver, "The*Comma is due here on Friday next from Wellington, and is listed to sail the s.'ime day for Now Plymouth and Nelson via ports. The Wh,in-gape is to leave Lyttelton tonight, for Sydney with a cargo of produce. She will afterwards load at Newcastle and Sydney for Bluff, Dmvdin, and Lyttelton. The ITolmdalo is due at Dunedin on Monday from Wellington, and is listed to sail the same day for Wellington and Wanganui via ports, Messrs Dalgety and Co. advise, that the Fhaw, Pavill, and Albion liner Ara.wa is timed to sail from Wellington of, daybreak on Thursday, August 2, for Southampton and London. The Breeze is due here to-morrow from Lyttelton, and is to sail on Monday for Timarn, Lyttelton, Wellington, Pic-ton, and Wanganui. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wahlnn arrived at Lyttelton at 6.55 a.m. to-day from Wellington, and mails and passengers connected with the 8.45 a.m. express for the south. THE MELBOURNE STEAMER. The interstate passenger steamer Moeraki, which loft MChonrne. on Thursday morning, is duo at Wellington on Tuesday morning. She is expected to leave Wellington the same day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel D due here on Friday morning, and is timed to sail on Friday afternoon for Bluff and Melbourne. OUTGOING SAN FRANCISCO MAIL. The Union Company’s R.AI.S. .Maunganni is due at Wellington on Monday from Sydney. She will land passengers, and Will be despatched at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. PORT CHALMERS DELAYED. The C. and D. Lino have received a wireless message from the. captain of the Port Chalmers, on route from London, reporting that owing to heavy weather she will now not arrive at Lyttelton until late to-night.

CARGO FROM MONTREAL. T'lio Now Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Tndlevan arrived at Montreal on July 17 from England to load general cargo for New Zealand port*. The. vessel is to leave tho Canadian port about July 26. CUMBERLAND DUE TO-MORROW. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the Federal steamer Cumberland is duo at this port to-morrow from Liverpool via northern ports. The vessel will not como up to Dunedin, but will berth, at Port Cliaimers to discharge the local portion of her Home cargo. The Cumberland will sail early next week for Australian ports to load for the United Kingdom. WAIKOUAITI FROM SYDNEY. The Union Company’s freighter Waikouaiti, from Sydney via, Bluff, entered Ilia Heads at 7.30 a.m. to-day. A dense fog prevailed at the time, and when the vessel was off tho Harbor Board offices at, Port Chalmers she swerved from the channel course and went aground. She floated off a few minutes later, and was (berthed at the Birch street wharf shortly before 11 a.m. to discharge a largo quantity of general merchandise. Tho cargo includes transhipments ex the steamers Bombala, Diogenes, Valdeiri, Roggovoen, Bullaren, Hymettus, Orcades, Mongolia, Tredennick, Eastern, Almkcrk, and a quantity of fruit.
