The contest at Wellington last evening between Paul Demskey (Queensland;) and Clnrrie Blackburn (New Zealand) went the full fifteen rounds, and was declared a draw. The Wairoa Sub-union is faced with a football crisis. The country teams last Saturday refused to play unless granted transportation expenses. The union" refused, and only three lower grade games were played. There was no appearance of players in five other senior and junior games. The union last season paid these expenses, which were so heavy that its funds were crippled. The League is striving to get hold of the Maori players and public works men. - DUNEDIN BOWLING CENTRE. The monthly meeting of the executive was held last evening, and attended by Messrs W. Jacobsen (president), F. J. Campbell, A. J. Sullivan, A. M'Kcnzie, R. H. Todd, and W. E. Piddington. It was resolved that the president and secretary arrange for a date for Mr R. B. Tennant (of. the Agricultural Department) , to give an address on growing grasses, etc. The financial statement was read,_ and the position was quoted as quite satisfac--loThe0 The secretary of the council _ intimated that rule books,’ containing an inset dealing with amendments of the laws of the game, were being forwarded for distribution to the various clubs.
