A dog’s fidelity to its master in trouble ■was" exemplified in striking fashion at Highgate (England) Police Court. It belongs °to Henry Spencer, a company director, who was committed for trial, and during the several days he was in custody the dog showed signs of anxiety as to his absence. It appeared outside the door of the court and whined pitifully, but an official refused to let it in. Somehow or other the dog managed a little later to get into the court. It trotted to the back of the court, and then stood still at the door of the corridor leading, to the cells and began whining again. An official tried; to drive it away, but the dog would not budge, and started to growl. Then ths corridor door was opened, and in sprang the dog, pounced upon its master, and licked hia hands.
