PENSNETT TIMERS
LITTLE CHANCE OF ESCAPE. Press Association —By Telegraph— Copyright. LONDON, April 22. 'There is little hope of saving the five miners who were trapped at Pensnott, Many who escaped waded through water shoulder high. Only one succeeded in keeping Jiis candle alight, and he was able, to lead seven others to safely. Of twelve ponies in the mine eleven were drowned. The first indication of trouble was a pony rearing and dashing towards the shaft. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
