ALBANIAN BRIGAND’S HOARD. Press Association—By Telegraph—-Copyright. LONDON, April 22. The Athens correspondent of the ‘ Sunday Express ’ reports that explorers are within a short distance of a spot where it is believed that the vast fortune of All Pasha Favous, a brigand, who terrorised the Balkans a century ago, is buried. A subterranean passage I,oooyds long has been cleared beneath an ancient stronghold in the Albanian mountains. _ Twentyfive skeletons were found in it. They are believed to bo those of men who were murdered because they knew the secret of the hiding place. All’s strong-boxes are expected to include, besides Jewels, a hoard of golden Byzantine chalices ■stolen from churches _ and 65,000,000 ducats, which in the Middle Ages were worth 9s 4d each, and are now worth considerably more. It is expected that the treasure will be reached within a fortnight. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
