‘SCANDAL’
Thursday evening; next, at His Majesty’s Theatre, Avill mark the revival in Dunedin of ‘ Scandal,’ described as the greatest draw card in the' theatrical world to-day. Everywhere it has been presented it has been responsbile for crowded houses. In Melbourne it caused a sensation, and ten performances had to be given each week to cope with the crowds that flocked to see it. Probably no play in the past decade has been responsiblo'’for such n diversity of opinion as this audaciously-wrought work of Cosmo Hamilton. The new company which has been selected is said to bo better than the last, in that it is remarkable for its all-round strength. Doris Duane, the leading lady, is described as one of the cleverest actresses to visit this country, and is said to exhibit great ability and dramatic power. Eric -Harrison," the leading man, is a popular English comedy actor, specially imported for the part. ‘ Scandal ’ has been responsible for great controversy over the now famous bedroom scene; but it is generally agreed that Cosmo Hamilton has handled the delicate situations with rare skill. ‘ Scandal' will be staged for three nights only. The plans for the three nights are now on view’ at The Bristol.
