REPUBLICAN CONVERT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, April 21. I The latest convert to the World Court proposal is Mr Frederick H. Gillett (Massachusetts), Republican member of the House ■of Representatives, who was , Speaker in the House in the last two i Congresses, and who probably will be ’elected for a third term. Air Gillett states: “ I am heartily and unreservedly I with the President on that issue. Many ) Republicans are expressing opposition. II believe it is because they misunderstand the matter, and think' it involves endorsing the League of Nations; _ but if the Republican loaders are going to Oppose anything, however meritorious, which comes from the League, _ they are likely to alienate many who built up the party.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
