DRUG SMUGGLERS
HUGE SHIPMENT SEIZED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. OTTAWA, April 21. The Montreal police announce that a huge shipment of drugs, valued at 600,000 dollars, which was intended to _be smuggled into Cflji&dfi and til© United States, was seized on an unnamed vessel in mid-Atlantic by Scotland Yard detectives, who had secreted themselves aboard while the ship lay in an English port en route from Germany to Halifax. The British Secret Service in Germany supplied the “tip,” which led to the smugglers caught red-handed. The vessel was‘handed over to the Caaadian authonties at Halifax. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
