STATUS OF VESSELS ABROAD
Press Association—-By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, April 19. (Received April 21, at 8.55 a.m.) The Secretary of State (Mr Hughes) has issued instructions to American diplomatic officers, based on a communication from Mr Lasker (chairman of the U.S. Shipping Board), which stated that some foreign Governments were doubtful concerning tho status of tho U.S. Shipping Board vessels. Mr Hughes declares that the United States does not claim that such vessels are entitled to the immunities or advantages usually accorded to Govern-ment-owned vessels of a foreign nation, —A. and N.Z. Cable.
