The Rnahinc left Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete her loading for London. The Waikouaiti arrived here this morning from Oninaru, and was berthed at the Birch street wharf to load general freight for Australia. She is to sail today direct, for Sydney. The vessel will load at Newcastle and Sydney towards th> end of this month for Bluff, Dnnedin, and Lyttelton. The Harumu went to Port Chalmers early this morning to load dominion products for the United Kingdom. She is to sail on Saturday for Bluff and Lyttelton to complete loading. The Wanaka is duo hero this evening from Auckland via ports. She is to sail at noon to-morrow for Bluff to complete discharge and load for northern ports. The Kahika is due here on Sunday from Bluff, and is listed to sail on Monday for New Plymouth and Nelson via ports. The Whan gape left Sydney at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, cargo laden, for Lyttelton and Dnnedin. She is due here about April 25 and after discharge will undergo survey at Port Chalmers. The, Port Nicholson left Auckland yesterday for Tokomaru Bay, Napier, and Wellington to complete loading for Jie United Kingdom. She is to leave Welh’ngton about the- end of April for London via Montevideo. The Waiwcra is due. at Auckland about April 23 from London via Panama. Her cargo will ho disrho v ged at Auckland, New Plymouth, and NoV-on. The. Arawa is scheduled to leave London on May 9 for Auckland, Napier, and Port Chalmers. The Port Macquarie is scheduled to leave New York on May- 60 for New Zealand and Australian ports. The Breeze, which is due here on Saturday from Lvtteltnn, is to sail on Monday for Timarn,' Lyttelton, Picton, and Wanganui. The Kaka.pn, having discharged several hundred tons of coal into H.M.S. Chatham's bunkers, has been removed to a berth at the Birch street wharf. _ The Knkapo is to sail to-morrow for Timnn, Wellington. Westport, and Greymnuth. H.M.S. Laburnum, which sailed from Auckland on a two months’ cruise of southern ports in February, returned to the northern port on Saturday last, after having visited all the more important points on the East and West’Coasts. Sire lias been docked for dealing and painting. , , The Knrow sailed last evening for east roast ports and Auckland. She will load at Auckland about the end of next week for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dnnedin. The Manuka is to leave Sydney tomorrow for Wellington, where she is due on Tuesday-. The vessel is listed to sail from Wellington on April 27 for Sydney. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Chalmers is to leave London on May- 20 for Lyttelton, Dnnedin, and Now Plymouth. The G. H. Scales Company has been notified by cable that the steamer Bentbridge arrived at Hull on Monday last from Lyttelton. The small Island steamer Ranadi, which hn.s been sold by the Fiiian Government to tho Ellice and Gilbert’lsland Administration, and had been at Auckland since January 13 undergoing an extensive overhaul, sailed on Monday for Fiji. The Flora, from Auckland, arrived _at Rarotonga at 9 .p.m. on Friday- last. She is to leave on the return trip to Auckland to-morrow evening. Cable nows lias been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Iforornta sailed from Sydney on Friday last for Melbourne and Adelaide to discharge tho remainder of her New lork cargo. The Shaw-. Savill, and Albion Company advises that tho Matakana, which left London on March 17 with cargo for Australian ports, after discharge there will come to New Zealand to load for Loudon. Sho is duo at Timarn to-morrow, and will subsequently visit Picton, Wellington, Opna, and' Auckland, sailing finally from' Auckland about Juno 12 for London.

Advice has been received that the British India steamer Nuddea will not visit Wellington this trip. Her cargo from Texas for Wellington will bo discharged at Sydney and transhipped to Wellington. The'Nuddea will now load in Australia for Hull, Antwerp, Hamburg, and london.

The auxiliary schooner Zita arrived unexpectedly at Wellington on Sunday morning. bound from Whangapo with 75.000 ft of timber for Lyttelton. The vessel put in to Wellington for crude oil fuel, fresh water, and stores. She left Whangapo on April 4, and had fine weather with calms generally, but during a couple of days’ rough weather salt water found its way into the fresh water tank ami a sea shifted one of the forward deckhouses. The Zita arrived at Lyttelton yesterday. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wauine arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.rn. to-day from Wellington, and mails and passengers connected with tho 8.45 a.m. express for the south. THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL. According to cabled advice tho Union Company’s' R.M.S. Maunganui sailed from San Francisco at noon on Friday la.se for .Papeete, Rarotonga, Wellington, and Sydney. She, should reach Wellington on Friday, May 4. CUMBERLAND AT HULL. A cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that tlio Cumberland arrived at Hull on the morning of April 10 from Wellington. She left the northern port on February 18. ROTORUA FROM ENGLAND, The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotorua, on route from London and Srnthampten to New Zealand, sailed from Panama on April 13, Tho Rotorua was formerly named the Shropshire. She has been taken over by tho New Zealand Slipping Company, and has born converted into an oil-burner. The vessel "s bringing a largo number of passengers to New Zealand, and cargo for discharge at Wellington, Lvttolton. 'and Dunedin. She is duo at Wellington about May 4.

THE PORT MELBOURNE. Messrs J. W. Swift and Go. advise that the Port Melbourne, from Liverpool and Glasgow via Panama, is now due at Auckland. She will continue disckirgo at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and is dno here albont May 2. After completing discharge the Port Melbourne will load frozen meat and general cargo at Port Chalmers for London. She will also load at Lyttelton and North Island ports. VANCOUVER MAIL SERVICE. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara arrived at Suva from Vancouver via Honolulu at 10 a.m. on Monday, and sailed from the island port at 4 p.m. the same day for Auckland, where she is due to-morrow morning. Site is timed to leave again to-morrow evening for Sydney. The R.M.S. Makura, from Sydney via Auckland and Suva, arrived at Honolulu at 7 a.m. on Saturday last, and sailed at 5 p.m. the same day for Vancouver. MAHIA’S MOVEMENTS, The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the Mahia will now leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin to unload the remainder of her cargo from Liverpool. The ship is to load subsequently at Port Chalmers, Timam, and Wellington. She is expected hack at Wellington on May 4, and is to sail from there on May 9 for London via Montevideo. LARGS BAY TIED UP. The Commonwealth liner Largs Bay. which was to have sailed from Sydney for Brisbane early in April, has been tied up, owing to a dispute with the marine engineers. When the crew was signed mi on March 27. the third engineer, who had served on the voyage to Sydney, was found to have been “logged.” The Institute of Marine Engineers objected to the dismissal, holding that the discharge should not have taken effect until the man’s case had been investigated. The Mocraki, from Melbourne with mails, passengers, and cargo, arrived at Wellington at 10 a.m. to-day. The vessel is expected to sail to-night for Lyttelton and Dunedin. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the Opawa, from Liverpool via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. is due at Dunedin on Saturday to discharge the balance of her Home cargo. A FINE COASTAL VESSEL. The Westland Shipping Company's steamer Tees arrived at Lvltellon last Sunday afternoon from Wellington to enter (lie coastal trade between Lyttelton, Wellington, Greymonth, and Picton, making intermediate trips to the Cliatliams about onco a month. A vessel of 545 tons gross, she was built in Goolo in 1911 for John Harrison, of London, and engined by Richardson and West garth, Middlesboro’. She was purchased for her present owners, in November, by Captain A. I. Dowell (formerly of the Ngalore), who brought her out to New Zealand, and who Will retain command of the vessel. She is fitted with double, derricks and double winches, has two large hatches and clear holds, and is otherwise well equipped for the handling of cargo. She has four water-ballast tanks. Her length is 165 ft. beam 26ft, and depth (moulded) 13.7 ft. She carries sixteen of a. crew all told, including five. A.B.s, three firemen, me conk, and one steward. Her officers a.r? : Chief. Mr G.
