The best match of the day was tho GrayHowo contest, which was full of hard hitting and attractive play. The junior champion had 5-3 in the first set, but suffered bad patches. Miss Gray vras undoubtedly the most stylish -and attractive of tho visitors. Results :

In the game between Miss MacFarlano and Mrs La.scollcs the second set was very close, there being only one point of difference in the total.

In the doubles nine games wont iby before Mrs Scott-Watson, and Miss Howo notched one, but with, a, little support the younger player would have made a fight of it, Mrs Sco+t-Wntson being very unsteady. The Miss Gray-Miss Lloyd combination developed into two volleyers versus two base-liners, and save at the end of the second set the issue was never in doubt. Miss Lloyd’s not play and Miss Gray’s hurricane drives crushed the opposition. Mrs Hodges let Miss MncFarlano down, at the end. The combination of all the New Zealand ladies wa-s never up to that of their opponents. The second series of matches for to-day were ;—Miss Lance v. Miss MacFarlone, Mrs LasceUcs v. Mrs Scott-Watson, Miss Gray v. Mrs Hodges, Miss Lloyd v. Miss Howe. Doubles.—Miss Lance and Mrs Lnscolles v. Miss MacFarlaim and Mrs Hodges, Miss Gray and Miss Lloyd v. Mrs Scott-Watson and.
