ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FATAL GAR SMASH. MAN KILLED. A Tnihapo Association message states: —Maurice Morgan, of Napier, was killed in a car accident between Taihape and Aloa.whango yesterday. The car went over a steep bank into the river, and Morgan was pinned under the car and drowned. There were five others in the car, which was driven by Mr 11. E. Davis, manage!! of the Taihape Freezing Works. These included Mrs Davis, Mr and Mrs Morgan, Mrs Minn, and the small boy Davis. These were thrown on to (he hank of the i-iver. Mrs Minn was knocked about, and is now in hospital, but tho others aia not seriously injured. Morgan's body has not yet been recovered. The car is a complete wreck. A. Rotorua Association message states that yesterday an elderly man named James O’Keefe, who lived alone, was found unconscious outside his cottage. Ha was taken to the hospital, and died las) night. There were no marks of violence on the body. Reginald Ralston, aged nineteen years, residing with his parents at AKknton, was admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from a fracture of the left leg. He was riding a motor cycle on tho Brighton road, when he was run into by another motor cyclist while his head was turned looking for his hat, which had been lifted by (he wind.
