Grange was first out, but Red Pal led St. Easel over the first fence, Calma lying last, Londonderry raced to the front, and was two lengths clear of Red Pal at the stand, Glenshine last. Grange jumped into second place at the mile, behind Londonderry, who led along the back Mazama made a bad jump in the back. Sherlock fell at tho five furlongs, Mazama 'being third. Calma lost her rider at the second last fence. Londonderry led into the straight, and seemed to bo a sure thing, but had to be shaken up to win by a head from Mazama, who finished very strongly, St. Easel four lengths away, then Grange, GlensHine, Red Pal, and Claverhouse. Then Wharfedale, on the rails, took charge from Incursio and Pilliewinkie. At the five furlongs Wharfedale and Pilliewinkie were leading Incursio, Bosker Boy, and Loughrea. At tide stage Balasor s rider was bumped off. At tho foot of the hill Wharfedale and Pilliewinkie still led from Bosker Boy and Incursio. Going round at the turn Com Rig® led Sunny Lodi, Silver Peak, and Castellan. At the mile post Corn Rigs led Sunny Loch by three lengths, Whipping Boy, and Castellan, with Limelight in the rear. Corn Rigs still led Whipping Boy, Sunny Loch,; and Castellan round the back, with Limelight moving up. At the far turn the order was: Corn Rigs, Sunny Loch, and Whipping Boy. Going up the hill Limelight improved his position. (Near the water pump Sunny Loch had drawn up on Com Rigs, with Deucalion and Limelight next. In the run home Com Rigs was caught inside the distance by Deucalion, who came on. and won hy a .length and a-quarter, third two lengths away, than Twinkle, Castellan, and General Advance.
