Nicholson, manager in New Zealand for the National Mutual Life Association, has received the following cable message from the head office, Melbourne : —The fifty-third annual general meeting was held on the 21at inst. The new business for the year was very satisfactoryover 13,000 policies were issued, assuring over £5,000,000. Tho total income for the year was over £2,750,000, being an increase of over £200,000 on the figures of the previous year, Tho sum of £1,500,000 was added to tho funds, which now amount to over £16,500,000. Death claims were remarkably low, being £27,000 less than last year, and the lowest since 1915. The rate of interest earned is nearly per cent. Expenses of management show a further reduction.
