These prices have never been paid in this market before. Half-wool and quarter-wool skins also commanded attention. Wheat freights are rather easier. The steamer Hangasland has been fixed for Booth Australia and Victoria in January 43s 9d. The Orient Company shows a credit balance of £217,621. A dividend of 12] per cent, on deferred shares, tax free, was declared. The sum of £IOO,OOO was added to the reserve fund, and £72,903 was carried forward. The exchange rate on New York is 4dol 53| cents.
