Our Clyde .correspondent telegraphs: The bowling match Cromwell v. Alexandra, at the former place, was brought to a painful conclusion owing to the sudden collapse of Mr Alex. MTeau, rector of the Alexandra High School. On the resumption of play after the tea adjournment Mr M’Lean, 'who was skipping a rink, suddenly fell forward and expired. Ho is to be buried at Alexandra to-day. Mr A. F. Roberts, of Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co., lias been elected chairman of the Wellington Wodbrokors’ Association. Mr W. S. Alexander baa been appointed Stipendiary Magistrate, Sheriff, and Licensing Magistrate for the Chatham Islands. The new tramways engineer in the Dunedin Corporation’s .service, Mr H. T. W. M’Lenna/n, from Christchurch, commenced ■his duties on {Saturday morning. He has an office in the tramway buildings at Market street. Mr Edrrrand Anscombe, the wellknown architect, who has been travelling abroad for the last six months, returned to Dunedin by the special mail train on Saturday night.
