IRRIGATION AT ROXBURGH

In response to an invitation from the Teyiot Elfeotrio Power Board to assist it with the pushing forward of the scheme for irrigating an extensive area of East Roxburgh, by means of the Teviot Molyneux Company’s pipe-lino'acquired by the State, the executive q| tho Otago Expansion League sent tho following telegrams to tho Ministers interested, which, with their replies, are appended:— - Hon. Minister of Mines, Wellington, —Otago Expansion League strongly fecommends transfer of Teviot Molyneux Company’s pipe-line, Roxburgh, to Public Works Department for irrigation purposes ; supports resolution passed by settlers already forwarded to you; trusts you will accede to proposed transfer.— Steel, Expansion League. Steel, Expansion League,—Your wire re Teyiot Molyneux Company’s pipeline received and contents noted'. I shall bo pleased to give consideration to the representations of your league on the matter.— G. Jas. Anderson. Minister Public Works Department, Wellington,—Otago Expansion League solicits your assistance in securing Teviot Molyneux Company’s pipe-lino, Rox-. burgh, from Mines Department for irrigation purposes. Teviot Power Board willing to amend plans so that all after use may bo available for irrigation.
