THE LATEST WAR BOOK
RUSH FOR COPIES. FRENCH COMMENT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, LONDON, November 50. (Received December 1, at 9.25 a.m.) Mithin ninety minutes of the publishers’ office opening the first edition of ‘ Sir Douglas Haig ’ was sold out. —A. and N.Z. Cable. 1 PARIS, November 30. (Received December 1, at 9.50 a.m.) ‘Le Journal ’ says: Wo can only regret the publication of a book wherein so much space is devoted to -disparaging the part played bv Franco and Marshal Fogh. We do not desire to engage in a controversy winch would only benefit our former enemies, but as_the book is stated to be based on Lord. Haig's secret documents we wish that he would state clearly and publicly his part in. the publication. Lords Yprea and Jollicoe have already issued books in their own names. Lord Haig's character is too lofty for him to seek to conceal himself behind the authors.—A. and' N.Z. Cable.
