LATE SHIPPING
NEW STEAMER GALE. Later advice received by Messrs H. L. Taplcy and. Co. states that the Canterbury Steam Shipping Company’s new steamer Gale left Cardiff on Thursday, November 23, direct for Dunedin via Panama Canal. As tho vessel is steaming at three-quarters of her speed, she will not arrive here until towards tho end of January. Captain Dowell, late of the Blackball Company, is in command of the Gale. The steamer has been built specially for the Wanganui trade, and wul prove a valuable addition, to the Canterbury Comparry’s fleet, which will now oompnjß' the Calm, Storm, Breeze, and the above vessel.
