ORPHANAGE CARNIVAL
The monster carnival organised for the purpose of raising funds tor the erection of necessary additions to he St. Vincent do Paul Orphanage in South Dunedin will be held in His'Majesty's Theatre on Monday, November 13, His Lordship, Dr Whyte, is returning from Australia to open tie carnival. The promoters appear to have spared neither time- nor pains to make the fair a. huge success, and when the- worthiness of the object in view is considered —the oare_ of the little ones who have been deprived of their natural guardians—it may he taken for granted that all creeds and classes in the community will require but Kttle pressing to assist in so excellent a- work. The bazaar has been in course of prepa,ration for some considerable time past, with the result that a large and varied assortment of goods ba-s Teen collected ; and in addition to this the lending talent of the city has been secured in order that there may not be ,a dull moment throughout. Taken all roond, indications point to the undertaking being an unqualified success.
