The ‘ Daily Chronicle’s ’ Berlin correspondent reports abounding prosperity in German industry. The Harkortschc chemical factory, of Gotha, holds the record, with, a combined dividend and bonus of 150 per cent. t Another chemical factory paid a dividend* of 30 per cent, and a bonus of 70 per cent., so that shareholders recover their capital on the year’s working. Another concern declared a dividend of 38 per cent., with 20 per cent, last year. One mining company increased its dividend from 16 to SO per cent. The prosperity in tho engineering trade is indicated by a 50 per cent, dividend announced by the > Wotan works, at Leipzig. Among minor industries the Silhacher sugar factory returned SO per cent., and the Hildeseimer india-rubber goods factory 50 per cent., plus a 85 per cent, bonus.
